Event Description The Department of Art and Art History will host a visiting guest lecture, “The Period Room and the Transformation of the American Art Museum,” given by Kathleen Curran, professor of fine arts at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. The lecture will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in Boatwright Memorial Library's Adams Auditorium.
Kathleen Curran has taught at Trinity College since 1990. A specialist in architectural history, she believes in the importance of understanding the built environment: buildings, cities, and landscapes. A winner of the 1997 Arthur H. Hughes Teaching Award, Curran teaches the specialist and non-specialist alike. In addition to teaching courses on the history of architecture and cities, she has served as Trinity’s architecture adviser and has mentored many students who have built successful careers in architecture, historic preservation, and art history. |
