Event Description
Gordon S. Wood. one of the nation’s most respected voices on the American Revolution, will be on campus Nov. 11. Wood received the 1993 Pulitzer Prize for History for “The Radicalism of the American Revolution,” a book that brought Wood national notice on many levels—including when then-Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich publically and effusively praised the book.
He will discuss “Empire of Liberty: A History of the Early Republic, 1789-1815,” the newest volume in the Oxford History of the United States series Nov. 11 at 4:30 p.m. in the Brown-Alley Room in Weinstein Hall. A book signing and reception will follow at 5:30 p.m. This Marshall Center program is free and open to the public but registration is required at http://jepson.richmond.edu/rsvp/nov11.html
Gordon S. Wood is Alva O. Way Professor of History Emeritus at Brown University. |
