"Locked Out: The Fall of Massive Resistance" Screening
Start Date: 2/11/2010Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Date: 2/11/2010
Event Description
Following the 1954 Brown vs. Board of Education decision by the U.S. Supreme Court, mandating school desegregation, Virginia's government instead chose a path called "Massive Resistance," closing many public schools instead of integrating them. "Locked Out" offers first-hand accounts of the negative effects of this abuse of public power and yet how it also paved the way for future progress.
