UR Downtown hosts Summer in the City excursions for University of Richmond faculty and staff to highlight some of our favorite downtown destinations. This year's series focuses on archaeology and preservation in downtown Richmond.

Dr. Derek Miller, visiting lecturer of anthropology, will introduce the special exhibition UncoveRVA: Archaeology for Our Past, Present, and Future and lead a discussion on Richmond's archaeological resources with Ellen Chapman, co-founder of RVA Archaeology, and Dee DeRoche, chief curator at the Virginia Department for Historic Resources.

The UR Downtown Shuttle departs from Tyler Haynes Commons at 11 a.m. and returns to campus following the program by 12:45 p.m. Lunch boxes will be provided by Richmond on Broad Café. Registration is required and will open on Tuesday, May 30 at 10 a.m. Shuttle transportation is available to only the first 18 to register.
