Join the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Richmond for a guided tour of Paris, France. Tour leaders are Reynolds Community College instructor of English (and Osher member) Bitsy Gilfoyle and Osher Institute director Jane Dowrick.
A land package (for those arranging their own international air travel to Paris) and land and air packages (including both international air travel and lodging) are available.
Both packages include lodging at Hotel Claude Bernard, Saint-Germain, along with daily breakfast.
Daily activities will include half-day guided tours of sites that represent “notable haunts” for notables including Gertrude Stein, Alice B. Toklas, Sylvia Beach, Ernest Hemingway, Thomas Jeffeson, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Josephine Baker and James Baldwin. Each day will include free time for exploration and touring following the guided tour.
Suggested readings include works by authors listed above along with David McCullough’s The Greater Journey: Americans in Paris.
