Tanya Tagaq, from Ikaluktutiak (Cambridge Bay, Nunavut), is an internationally celebrated improvisational singer, avant-garde composer, visual artist, and bestselling author of Split Tooth. A member of the Order of Canada, and recipient of multiple honorary doctorates, she has released six albums of music, including Animism (2014), which won the Polaris and JUNO Awards.

The Gary L. McDowell Institute presents Brad Wilcox, professor of sociology at the University of Virginia, for the presentation, Mammon or Marriage? How to Maximize Happiness in Life and Love, on Thursday, March 27 at 5 p.m. in the Robins School of Business, Ukrop Auditorium.

Schola Cantorum and conductor Jeffrey Riehl will present a program of a cappella and accompanied choral music by living American composers featuring a suite of selections from Considering Matthew Shepard by Craig Hella Johnson.

The ensemble will perform a variety of classical, contemporary, and popular wind literature.
