Join us for "RVAIDS: The AIDS Epidemic in Richmond," a discussion about the HIV/AIDS epidemic and its disproportionate effect on people of color in the city of Richmond. Over several semesters, Dr. Laura Browder and Dr. Patricia Herrera have taught documentary theater as a way to call attention to the historic and current HIV/AIDS crisis. Drawing upon upon archival sources and oral histories, students in the course collaborate to create create a documentary drama that incorporates this often untold story. Browder and Herrera will speak about the project and share stories from along the way.
