Strong. Strategic. Sustainable. Balancing Leadership, Finance & Impact in Today’s Nonprofits

Join Steve Zimmerman, co-author of Nonprofit Sustainability: Making Strategic Decisions for Financial Viability, as he offers insights into managing nonprofits sustainably.

In our ever-changing environment, nonprofit leaders often search for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow known as “sustainability.” But sustainability lies not at some far-off destination. Rather, it occurs when organizations engage others in making ongoing strategic decisions to guide toward exceptional impact and financial viability. Pursuing sustainability is not a one-time thing, not a senior management thing nor a board of directors thing. It’s a mindset and way of organizational being. Based on the best-selling book Nonprofit Sustainability: Making Strategic Decisions for Financial Viability, Zimmerman will offer insights into building competencies for leading nonprofits sustainably and discuss approaches to strengthening nonprofit business models.

The keynote will be followed by a panel discussion that will connect Zimmerman’s talk to what is happening in Richmond. We will hear from nonprofit executives about how they have positioned their organization to be sustainable in the long term, their challenges, together with best practices from the financial and funders perspective.

$30 registration fee includes a copy of Nonprofit Sustainability, Making Strategic Decisions for Financial Viability by Zimmerman, Jeanne Bell and Jan Masaoka — a $47 value.
