The Department of English welcomes Dr. Eileen Joy to give a lecture.

This talk explores appropriations of medievalist tropes in popular culture, especially by the so-called Alt-Right and Men’s Rights movements, by focusing on the case of Allen Frantzen. Through this case, Professor Joy proposes the development of historical and intellectual methods that attend more rigorously to the messy and fluctuating stakes of historical scholarship.

This event is free and open to the public.
