The Departent of Latin American, Latino, and Iberian Studies welcomes Dr. Katherine Barko-Alva, Assistant Professor of ESL/Bilingual Education and ESL/Dual Endorsement Program Director, William and Mary.
This discussion will offer a brief overview on dual language programs in the U.S. It will also explore a practical framework to increase dual language teachers’ metalinguistic awareness in order to promote teachers’ content knowledge and language agency while negotiating academic language.
