Dir. Pere Portabella, Spain, 2007, 102 min.

Two Spanish truck drivers discuss Bach’s music as they traverse on the road. A group of cellists play rapturous Bach on a subway car they appear to have taken over. A player piano moves seemingly of its own accord through a bare art gallery. Bach’s music and influence are explored through this unconventional biopic, crisscrossing the continent from Spain to Germany by way of various travelers, their harmonies and rhythms.
