The Department of Latin American, Latino, and Iberian Studies presents a symposium on contemporary Catalan theatre.

Helena Buffery (Senior Lecturer and Department Head, Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies, University College Cork)
Anton Pujol (Associate Professor, Languages and Culture Studies, University of North Carolina at Charlotte)

3 p.m.–5:30 p.m.
Staged reading in Spanish of Nerium Park, a play by Josep Maria Miró, followed by a panel discussion with the symposium guest speakers.

Josep M. Miró is one of Spain’s most prominent contemporary playwrights. He will be a visiting artist in residence at the University of Richmond during the week of 22 October 2018.

The symposium has been organized with the support of the Institut Ramon Llull of Catalonia and the Balearic Islands; the Department of Latin American, Latino and Iberian Studies; and the School of Arts and Sciences.

The symposium is free and open to the public.
