The One Book One Richmond programming series will kick off with a book discussion with CCE Community Partner-in-Residence Fellow Queen Shabazz. The discussion will link together parts of the 2019-20 One Book, What the Eyes Don't See by Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, and the public health leadership of Shabazz taking place closer to home.

After discovering her son had been poisoned by lead in 1996, Shabazz established the Virginia Chapter of United Parents Against Lead, which evolved into United Parents Against Lead and Other Environmental Hazards. Shabazz will spend her fellowship researching the effects of lead poisoning in the greater Richmond community.
