Dir. Samuel “Blitz” Bazawule, 2018, Ghana, 80 min.

This stunning debut feature blends myth and social commentary, telling the story of a family’s tumultuous relationship through a young girl’s eyes. Esi dreams of a spiritual plane existing between life and death, and prepares to confront looming danger. When her father Kojo runs short on cash and her uncle Kwabena schemes to see if there is gold in an abandoned mine, the long-standing tension between them comes to a head and Esi must face her family’s conflicts.
