Let Your Light Shine: How Mindfulness Tools Can Help Children and Communities Thrive

Thursday, January 26, 8:30-9:30 am, Westhampton Room in the Heilman Dining Center (the Faculty-Staff Dining Room)

Faculty and staff are invited to a mindfulness program with breakfast on Thursday, January 26, 2023 beginning at 8:30 AM. Ali Smith, Atman Smith, and Andres Gonzalez, the founders of the Holistic Life Foundation, will describe their vision and practices for teaching yoga, meditation and breathwork to thousands of at-risk kids in Baltimore public schools, helping youth develop deep reserves of patience, empathy, and coping skills. HLF has received wide national attendance due to their remarkable impact on student achievement and well-being.

The breakfast event will highlight useful practices that help everyone improve stress reduction and the ability to thrive in challenging environments. The session is relevant for anyone who cares for others and/or wants to practice self-care. Join with other UR faculty and staff for a 30 minute lecture followed by question and answer time.

Registration is required- all staff and faculty are welcome. Breakfast will be provided using the dining center buffet stations.
