Join Career Services staff, as well as UR alums and friends, to discuss working in a variety of nonprofit environments.

This event is designed to provide Richmond students with a better understanding of what it means to work at a nonprofit and to challenge their assumptions about nonprofits. Students will also have an opportunity to network with alumni and friends of the university.

Myths being busted:
1) Working at a nonprofit means living paycheck-to-paycheck.
2) Nonprofits operate inefficiently, wasting time and money, in comparison to for-profit organizations.
3) Work at a nonprofit only consists of asking people for money.
4) There is no clear career path or upward mobility opportunities for someone that works at a nonprofit.
5) Nonprofit employees are just “career volunteers”.
