The Humanities Center presents the Language of Man syllabus. Join us, October 3rd in the Humanities Commons at noon for a discussion of Ralph Waldo Emerson's Nature, directed by Cary Wolfe, a Rice English professor.

This event is part of the Humanities Center's yearly theme, How (and Why) Do we Represent Nature? This year’s academic theme explores how ecology, politics, and humanistic practices might be braided together, analyzing how we arrived at a moment of climate crisis, as well as dreaming toward potential futures of planetary thriving.

The UR Humanities Center offers public events as well as intensive research and community-building programs, guided by our mission to collate and amplify humanities study. Please subscribe to the Humanities Newsletter to keep up with Center activities, and follow @URHumanities on Instagram.
