“Darwin’s Orchids: Evolution, Natural Law, and the Diversity of Desire” with Donovan Schaefer
The Humanities Center presents the Language of Man Syllabus. Please join us for Donovan Schaefer's presentation, “Darwin’s Orchids: Evolution, Natural Law, and the Diversity of Desire”. The event will take place in the Humanities Commons from noon to 1:30PM on October 31st.
This year’s academic theme, “How (and why) do we represent nature?” explores how ecology, politics, and humanistic practices might be braided together, analyzing how we arrived at a moment of climate crisis, as well as dreaming toward potential futures of planetary thriving.
The UR Humanities Center offers public events as well as intensive research and community-building programs, guided by our mission to collate and amplify humanities study. Please subscribe to the Humanities Newsletter to keep up with Center activities, and follow @URHumanities on Instagram.
