Startup Virginia Tour + Pitch Practice

Oct 18
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
University of Richmond

Have you ever been curious about the startup world? Or what it takes to build a company? What about considering working for a startup? Then this trip is for you!

We will tour the Capital One 1717 Michael Wassmer Innovation Center and meet founders at all stages of their journey - from the back of a napkin idea to getting your first customer and raising money. You'll learn how to engage with startups, founders, and the startup ecosystem, whether it be through events, programming, internships, or jobs.

During our visit, students will have a unique opportunity to engage in an interactive pitch practice session. This session will allow students to present their concepts in front of seasoned regional founders, gaining valuable real-world experience. The founders will provide constructive feedback, helping students refine their pitches, sharpen their business ideas, and better understand the dynamics of pitching in a startup environment. This hands-on experience is designed to enhance students' presentation skills and prepare them for future entrepreneurial endeavors.
