GIULIANO LOGOS

Giuliano Logos, born in 1993, is a performance artist, poet and rapper from Puglia and 2021 Poetry Slam World Champion – the first Italian artist to win this title (XV Grand Slam World Cup, Paris 2021).

He is co-founder and president of the collective WOW – Incendi Spontanei, an organization dedicated to the promotion and internationalization of performance poetry based in Rome. More recently he also founded the PO.ETICH method – Team Empowerment Strategies through Performance Poetry, an organization which aims to promote conflict resolution-tools.

In 2019 he opened his solo show tour “MÖBIUS – Interactive performance poetry show,” performed in Italy, France, Germany and Belgium: a show, sweetened by the science fiction setting of time travel, in which the audience decides the course of events, addressing the modern individual’s relationship with society and the search for his or her ultimate purpose.

In 2022 he presented his new solo show “ABRAXAS” and toured in the USA, Puerto Rico, Senegal, Morocco, Spain and China on the occasion of the XXII Settimana della lingua Italiana nel Mondo (SLIM, Week of Italian Language in the World) with the support of Italian Cultural Institutes and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, performing together with high caliber artists for the Poetry Slam movement, such as its founder Marc Kelly Smith.

In 2023, together with actor Massimiliano Bruno and rapper Rancore, he launched Zètema’s PROJECT ABC holding the largest performance poetry workshop ever held in Italy. Furthermore, in 2023 and 2024, Giuliano Logos embarked on new international tours, performing in France, Germany, Spain, Denmark, Portugal, and Belgium.

His love for words has lead him towards attaining a law degree with an international focus, a master’s degree in international relations, and one in corporate communication, institutional relations and lobbying, and, simultaneously, towards developing his rap and hip hop knowledge and skills, first, and then performance poetry dexterity.

ABOUT SETTIMANA DELLA LINGUA ITALIANA NEL MONDO
The Week of the Italian Language in the World is an event that has been held since 2001 and that over time has become one of the most important initiatives dedicated to the celebration of the Italian language internationally. Since its establishment, the initiative has been awarded each year High Patronage by the Presidency of the Republic. Each Week is dedicated to a different theme, which serves as a common thread for a rich programme of conferences, exhibitions and meetings. The previous editions of the Week had focused on ties with creativity, in particular the cultural industries such as music (2015), design and fashion (2016) and film (2017). The 2018 edition explored the relationship between language and the web, in both its physical and digital sense. The 2019 edition, titled “L’Italiano sul palcoscenico” (Italian on the stage), involved around 900 events in more than 100 countries, dedicated to music, popular song, theatre, drama and melodrama.

The 2024 edition is dedicated to “L’italiano tra le righe.”
