The Department of Theatre & Dance is hosting Hip Hop Week October 28-30. 

Matthew Oware, Irving May Professor of Human Relations and professor of sociology, will lead a discussion with Aaryn Green, the co-Arthur of the best-selling book The Sociology of Cardi B. They'll discuss the evolution of gender roles in hip hop culture, the variations of masculine roles in hip hop culture. In addition to the representation of women in hip hop, along with the black/trap/hip hop feminism movement.
