The Discussion. 1 Million Cups is a national entrepreneurship program of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, which promotes peer learning and professional connections that assist entrepreneurs.

RVA Works brought 1 Million Cups to Richmond in 2014, and have supported over 400 meetups.

1 Million Cups - Richmond is hosted by the Robins School of Business, University of Richmond.

At each 1 Million Cups, business founders as guest speakers share about their ventures and discuss the challenges that they are facing during the development process. Participants can learn from the speakers’ experiences, discuss valuable insights, and connect with other entrepreneurs, students, faculty, and investors.

Meet the International Founders of Mavity Tomás Uribe is an entrepreneur, co-founder and CEO at Mavity, the collaboration tool that helps businesses create design and marketing assets with AI.

Mavity is an all-in-one marketplace and collaboration tool that facilitates connections between businesses and over 11,000 creative professionals. It utilizes skill-quantification and on-demand team formation to ensure efficient project execution.

Tomás has been featured in INC. Magazine, Forbes, and an invited speaker at several conferences and events including SXSW, Harvard University, among others. Mavity has raised from prominent investors including Morgan Stanley, L'Attitude Ventures, Google, Pharrell Williams, Techstars, among other investors. Prior to Mavity, Tomás worked with global brands including Qualcomm, United Nations, and Leica Camera and as touring musician and producer. He has been recognized in the Forbes Next 1000 list, included in Crain's New York Business Notable Leaders in Advertising, Marketing & PR, as well as by the Colombian Government Trade Agency - ProColombia.

Manuela Pereira is Head of Sales & Partnerships at Mavity, and has a background in retail, consultancy, e-commerce, and e-learning. “From working on product management, category management, and assortment partnerships, to designing, planning, and executing marketing campaigns that ultimately lead to successful sales funnels.”
