MEET THE ARTISTS

Third Coast Percussion
For twenty years, the ensemble has forged a unique path in the musical landscape with virtuosic, energetic performances that celebrate the extraordinary depth and breadth of musical possibilities in the world of percussion. The ensemble has been praised for “commandingly elegant” (New York Times) performances, the “rare power” (Washington Post) of their recordings, and “an inspirational sense of fun and curiosity” (Minnesota Star-Tribune). The four members of Third Coast are also accomplished teachers, and currently serve as ensemble-in-residence at Denison University.

Isabella Tomé
Driven by creativity and compassion, I've pursued a path that blends art and psychology. As a Modlin Arts Student Ambassador, I've had the privilege of igniting creativity across campus through the "Tiny Dorm Series," a project that embodies my passion for art and community. My role as a Counseling and Psychology Services (CAPS) intern allowed me to develop impactful events that sparked crucial conversations about mental health. With a deep-seated passion for resilience and experience-based neuroplasticity, I've dedicated myself to exploring these topics through my honors thesis and extensive research in a behavioral neuroscience lab. As I've learned, art possesses a unique capacity to instill resilience. Following graduation, I've accepted a clinical psychology doctoral position, with the ultimate goal of establishing a private practice that principally integrates art, resilience, and holistic healing approaches to mental well-being.
