Blackbird, Fly weaves together an enduring tapestry of movement, narrative, music, and Haitian folklore to engage audiences in dialogue about critical questions of our time. Steeped in hip-hop aesthetic, this duet between two preeminent sons of Haitian immigrants —composer and violinist Daniel Bernard Roumain and arts activist and spoken word artist Marc Bamuthi Joseph — unveils their life stories in search of their identities and role models, while exploring universal themes of tolerance and inclusion. It is a powerhouse collaboration sure to move you, delight you, and make you think.

The New York Times describes Daniel Bernard Roumain (known to many as DBR) as "about as omnivorous as a contemporary artist gets," nodding to his prolific and endlessly collaborative work as a composer, performer, educator, and social entrepreneur.

Marc Bamuthi Joseph (known to many as Bamuthi) is a TED Global Fellow, an Emerson Collective Dial Fellow, an inaugural recipient of the Guggenheim Social Practice initiative, and an honoree of the United States Artists Rockefeller Fellowship.
