Galapagos George

Based on the true story of "Lonesome George," this show tells the tale of a truly one-on-a-kind tortoise from the Galapagos Islands. Who is George? He is a tortoise, a GIANT GALAPAGOS TORTOISE! Watch George grow up among sea turtles, lizards, hungry goats, sea lions, and dancing birds with blue feet. As you visit his island, you hear the true story of the last tortoise to be found on Pinta Island in the Galapagos archipelago. Fall in love with these islands...and this not-so-little tortoise!

Described by The Smithsonian as "an uplifting eco-fable," this engaging theatrical piece shares an important lesson about man's impact upon the environment. This show was funded in part by a grant from the Puppeteers of America Endowment Fund and was awarded an UNIMA Citation of Excellence in 2005.

All ages welcome, especially enjoyed by ages 5-10. Performance run time is 50 minutes with a brief post-show Q&A. Free tickets are required and seating is general admission.
