In 1982, 11-year-old Midori was invited to perform with the New York Philharmonic on New Year’s Eve. It was the start of a rich and wonderful career for one of the world’s best-loved violinists. In this recital performance — the last stop on her fall tour — she will take the stage with pianist Ieva Jokubaviciute for a night of beautiful music that will nourish your soul.

As an exceptional educator committed to sharing the joy of music with young people, Midori will join the faculty of New York's Juilliard School in the fall of 20025 and will continue to work with her students at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. She is also the artistic director of Ravinia Steans Music Institute's Piano & Strings program. During her time at the University of Richmond she will dedicate time to students in the Department of Music — an exceptional opportunity Modlin is excited to share.
