You could go a long time without hearing a guitarist as good as Stephane Wrembel. And you could go even longer before you heard one who was as impressive in live performance. Born in Paris, raised in Fontainebleau, and educated at the Berklee College of Music, Wrembel has a deep connection to the music of Django Reinhart — but has also forged his own path. He is certainly among the preeminent guitarists who specialize in the Reinhardt style, but he cannot be so tightly defined. His music incorporates jazz, blues, classical, swing, flamenco, and rock. Taken together, this blending of styles yields a sound and style purely Wrembel's own.

“I just play my own music,” he says. “I like to believe that it is beyond any one genre and that there is something in it for everyone. It’s not only for Django lover or jazz lover. It’s for the music lover.”
