During the Civil War, popular music served to entertain, console, and rally people on both sides of the conflict. As the capital of the Confederacy, Richmond was also an important hub for music publishing. UR music librarian Linda Fairtile will discuss the composers, performers, publishers, and original owners of some of the 32 pieces of Civil War sheet music at Boatwright Library.
