Radical Objectification: Consent, Fatness, and Vulnerability

Join Dafne Luna, Fat Chicana/o/x Studies researcher, for an intimate look into the life, art, and self-representation of artist Laura Aguilar. Drawing from Aguilar’s personal archives, Luna explores how the artist navigated the complexities of being brown, lesbian, fat, and disabled in a world that rendered her invisible. Through radical objectification and her connection to nature, Aguilar transformed shame into acceptance, using the landscape—and her body—as sites if radical expression.
