Don't be an NPC: A Meet & Greet with Ready Player Juan's Dr. Carlos Kelly

Sep 18
12:00 PM - 1:30 PM
Join us with a private meet & greet with Dr. Carlos Kelly. Dr. Kelly will guide students through examples from his latest book, Ready Player Juan: Latinx Masculinities and Stereotypes in Video Games, and invite the group to explore clips from various video games to examine how those racialized narratives have crossed over into the video game world. Attendees will critically analyze how official narratives and histories are projected into video game characters as a means to sustain the national borders and rhetorics of diverse bodies.

All attendees will receive a complimentary copy of Dr. Kelly's book, which can be signed at the workshop. There is a 20-student cap, so RSVP!
