Join the University of Richmond Law Review for a fall symposium on the future of death penalty abolition in increasingly regressive times. As federal policies signal a resurgence in capital punishment, scholars, advocates, and legal practitioners will come together to examine the moral, legal, and constitutional implications of this moment and how the movement for abolition can continue to advance despite these setbacks. Keynote speaker Stephen Bright, renowned Yale Law School professor and former director of the Southern Center for Human Rights, will share insights from his decades of experience litigating death penalty cases and advocating for justice reform.

Event is free, but registration is required. Registration link to come.

This Symposium will be held in-person. A virtual option will not be available.
