The Writers Series exposes Richmond students, the greater university community, and city residents to some of today’s most celebrated writers. Readings are free and open to the public, though seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. 

A reading by Kathryn Harlan from her short story collection, Fruiting Bodies, followed by a Q&A and book signing.

This year's Visiting Writer at the University of Richmond, Kathryn Harlan is the author of the collection Fruiting Bodies, a finalist for the 2023 Pen/Faulkner award for fiction. Her stories have also appeared in publications like Strange Horizons, The Colorado Review, and LitHub. Kathryn holds an M.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has taught both creative and academic writing.
