Join Ashley White, Visiting Assistant Professor in Department of Theatre & Dance, in conversation with Grammy-winning and Tony and Emmy nominated Broadway actress Phillipa Soo, best known for the role of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton in Hamilton, for a discussion highlighting her career journey, her reflections on storytelling as a form of cultural connection, and the role of the arts in shaping community and identity. A reception will follow the program.

This event is only open to students, faculty, and staff of the University of Richmond. Tickets will only be distributed with a UR ID.

ABOUT PHILLIPA SOO

Phillipa Soo is best known for originating the role of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton in Broadway’s critically acclaimed show Hamilton. The role garnered her the Lucille Lortel Award in 2015 for Lead Actress in a Musical during the show's Off- Broadway, sold- out run at The Public Theater as well as earning her a 2016 Tony Award nomination. Phillipa earned a 2021 Emmy nomination in the category of “Supporting Actress, Limited Series, Movie or Anthology” for the film version of Hamilton, that premiered in July 2020 and is available to stream now on Disney+.
