Rhythms of Belonging: The Sound of Freedom and Connection
University of Richmond, VA 23173
Join us for the first InclusiviTea in the University’s new InclusiviTeas series, hosted by the Office of the Vice President for Inclusion and Belonging in partnership with the Modlin Center for the Arts. InclusiviTeas brings together members of the campus and greater Richmond community to connect over tea and conversation, exploring what inclusion and belonging mean in our shared spaces.
This inaugural event, Rhythms of Belonging: The Sound of Freedom and Connection, features a fireside chat with Dr. Monica M. Smith, Paul Brohan, and Arturo O’Farrill (GRAMMY Award–winning Afro Latin jazz musician and composer). Together, they’ll explore how rhythm, storytelling, and creativity move us—breaking boundaries, sparking dialogue, and creating space where everyone belongs.
Experience the power of music to inspire freedom and connection as we sip, share, and shape our campus culture.
Tea Service & Light Refreshments (Modlin Lobby) will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the Fireside Chat (Camp Concert Hall) at 5:30 p.m.
Submit questions for Arturo O’Farrill in advance by November 16: tinyurl.com/URInclusiviTeaQuestions
Event recording available after the event. Parking is available near Booker Hall. Open to the campus and greater Richmond community.
