Partners in the Arts Workshop: Pulling Threads from "A Mourning"

Feb 10
4:30 PM - 7:00 PM
University of Richmond, Harnett Museum of Art & Harnett Print Study Center
453 Westhampton Way
University of Richmond, VA 23173

Join Partners in the Arts for a workshop to discover how artist Abigail DeVille followed curiosity to pull the thread of her elders “growing up with ghosts.” Experience and acquire the processes she used in cycles of research and making, to learn science, economics, history, math, sound, and literacy while using visual and sonic communication to create this installation story.

Educator participants will explore designing wonder as a catalyst to spark their students’ curiosity/inquiry, the second step in how we learn, and increase engagement and the motivation to learn.

This workshop is appropriate for educators and faculty from all content areas and fields and across all levels of K-12 and higher education.

Provided by University Museums and Partners in the Arts, an integrated learning program of the School of Professional and Continuing Studies at the University of Richmond. The free event is open to all educators and includes a meal.

Registration is required and must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on February 4.
