Brendan Regan, ’08, associate professor of Spanish & linguistics at Texas Tech University, presents “Sociolinguistic development during a study abroad experience in Sevilla: Insights from a former participant and a current researcher.”

Regan earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond in Latin American and Iberian studies and psychology, a master’s degree from Temple University, and a doctoral degree from The University of Texas at Austin.

He is the director of the Texas Tech Sociolinguistics & Bilingualism Research Lab and a linguist and mixed-methods (quantitative and qualitative) researcher with expertise in experimental design, surveys, interviews, descriptive and inferential statistics, data visualization, discourse analysis, and acoustic analysis.
