The Power of Parental Care: How Its Presence & Absence-Shapes Brains Across Generations

Join the Department of Psycholocy for the Inaugural Craig Kinsley Lecture with Erica Glasper, associate professor of neuroscience at The Ohio State University.

Glasper's research examines how experience with offspring shapes the male brain and behavior, revealing neurobiological changes that help fathers bond and provide care. We also explore what happens when necessary biparental care is absent, uncovering sex-specific effects on brain function, stress responses, and social behaviors from early life into adulthood. These findings have important implications for understanding human parenting and how strong family bonds support health and resilience across generations.

Refreshments will be provided.

Sponsored by the Department of Psychology and the School of Arts & Sciences.
