“Queer Extinctions; or, Learning How to Last”
Sarah Ensor is Associate Professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she works at the intersections of queer theory, the Environmental Humanities, and American Literature. With Scotti Parrish, she is co-editor of The Cambridge Companion to American Literature and the Environment, and her writing has appeared in American Literature, Environmental Humanities, and Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and the Environment. Her first book, Queer Lasting: Ecologies of Care for a Dying World, which was published by NYU Press in 2025, is a finalist for the 2026 Lammy Award in LGBTQ+ Studies, given by Lambda Literary.
