Neumann Lecture on Music: Anne K. Rasmussen

Department of Music Free Concert Series

Ethnomusicologist Anne K. Rasmussen gives the 2027 Neumann Lecture, entitled “Monsoon Melodies: The Music of Indonesian Islam”. Based on career-long engagement in Indonesia, she uses Islam’s five pillars as an organizational scaffold to illuminate the musical genres of the rich Islamic soundscape.

The Department of Music produces over 25 concerts annually featuring a broad range of styles and genres. Enjoy student recitals, faculty ensemble performances, and concerts created in collaboration with visiting artists. All concerts are free with tickets and seating is general admission.
