A shipwreck. A deserted island. A magician with unfinished business.

When Prospero conjures a violent storm to bring his enemies ashore, what follows is a spellbinding tale of betrayal, romance, revenge, and ultimately redemption. Filled with mischievous spirits, political intrigue, and one of Shakespeare's most lyrical passages, The Tempest blurs the line between illusion and reality. At once intimate and epic, The Tempest invites audiences into a world shaped by imagination, where storms reveal truth and forgiveness holds the greatest power of all.

These performances are presented in conjunction with the Eco-Tempest Exhibition, a community initiative in partnership with the Office of Sustainability and Rethink Waste. Each evening begins in the Modlin Lobby at 7:00 PM, where students share research and creative work on environmental stewardship and the play's themes of our relationship with nature. At 7:30 PM, the fun moves to the stage, where our all-student cast and crew perform on scenery made primarily from repurposed waste materials. After the show, audiences return to the lobby to gather around four eco-sculptures for student-led discussions of the play's major themes. The final performance is a Sunday matinee, with the exhibition at 1:30 PM and the show at 2:00 PM.

The Department of Theatre & Dance offers a dynamic lineup of performances, including black box productions, staged readings, dance concerts, and musicals. Each production brings together students, faculty, alumni, and guest artists, creating a collaborative space where audiences can connect, explore new perspectives, and experience engaging, live performance.

All performances are free with ticket and seating is general admission.
