The Critical Language Scholarship is an intensive, fully-funded overseas language and cultural immersion program for American university students. Students spend the summer abroad studying a critical or understudied language (Arabic, Azerbaijani,  Chinese, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Persian, Portuguese,  Russian, Swahili, Turkish, or Urdu). 

U.S. citizens in any year, including seniors graduating in 2027, are eligible to apply. Come to a workshop for help preparing strong application materials!
