Academic life comes with its own rules, values, and expectations—many of which aren’t obvious, especially if you’re coming from a different educational or cultural background. This interactive session demystifies what professors and peers expect in your FYS and how culture shapes classroom behavior. Topics include practical strategies for navigating group projects, emailing and meeting with professors, and effective collaboration with classmates. Share your classroom experiences and get straightforward advice you can use in the coming weeks.

This student event is hosted by WLC English Language and Culture. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required. Contact wlc@richmond.edu with any questions.
